Chase Research Cryogenics
manufacture a wide range of heat switch designs for a variety of uses,
including bespoke designs to meet individual customer requirements.
There are two broad categories of heat switch:
Active: These have an
external absorber activated by a heater element. These are typically
used for systems that are cycled under user control.
Passive: These have an
internal absorber and automatically turn off when they cool. These are
typically used for the rapid cool-down and subsequent thermal isolation
of items of equipment.
Both types of heat switch can
be filled with either Helium 3 or Helium 4 gas., depending on the
temperature range over which operation is required.
